One of the things I don’t like about my writing is that it’s very stiff. I don’t think I put a lot of my personality into my writing as I’m more focused on making my point. So that is what this weekly series of post will be for. I’ll be taking a more conversational approach to my writing in this series and will be discussing whatever is I’m thinking about.
So for this first post, I guess I will talk about my blog. I actually started this website a few years ago during a biology lecture. I was always thinking about movies and anime and wanted to share my thoughts with someone, but I didn’t have any friends who shared my enthusiasm for the two mediums. So I figured it would be better to just shout into the void of the internet and hope that I would hear a voice back. I also started this blog to connect with other anime fans, and I’m very fortunate for that to happen. I didn’t anybody to read my post, so if you are reading this right now, then this post’s performance has exceeded my expectations.
Connecting with people over the internet is a new experience for me because I tend to be a lurker on all social media sites.

Me
I have to say I am very fortunate that the WordPress community is so great. You are probably the most wholesome bunch that I have been a part of. I think the reason why the WordPress community is so positive is that we all care about a topic so much that we are willing to spend our valuable time working to write about it. And because we are all writers we understand the work that goes into every individual post, none of us are willing to put down another author with a mean comment.
Another reason I wanted to start this blog is so that I can be a better writer. As I mentioned before my writing is very stiff and can be a bit choppy. I’m also cursed by typos, so I need to improve my editing process. But in the past, I had trouble writing at all because I was too focused on fixing my errors or I was stuck thinking that my writing was awful. So now I’m just trying to focus on putting things out there so that way I’m always producing something and hopefully always getting better.
In terms of producing content, I want to at least publish one post per week, in addition to these weekly thoughts but I’m hoping I can work my way up to posting one blog post per day. If I do end up only posting one post per week, I hope that they will be worth the wait.
I don’t know how big I want this blog to be. I never expected much from it in the first place so I don’t know if I can handle a large audience. I’m perfectly happy with a tiny viewer base as long as they seem to enjoy and are engaged in the content that I am producing.
Lastly, I don’t know how to end post outside of thanking the readers, so if you have any thoughts on how to end post, I will be glad to hear them. I’m also happy to hear any feedback or any of your thoughts on writing a blog. Feel free to post links to any post you made on writing that you think would be helpful.

Thanks for reading
Just started following you recently, but looking forward to reading more. You’re absolutely right that the WordPress community is super nice and supportive, far more so than any of the actual social networks out there. I rarely poke my head in on Twitter and the like any more because conversation is all but dead on those platforms, but here on WordPress we are all, by definition, wordy and articulate types!
Using your blog as a means of refining your own writing is a great idea. We all do it, and it’s mostly a matter of experimenting to find your own voice and what you’re happy doing. At some point you’ll put something out and think “yes, this is exactly what I want to do”, and it’s a lovely feeling when it happens!
Good luck with your writing efforts, I’m sure everyone following is keen to see more. No pressure! 🙂

Yes, cause biology lectures are the perfect time to start a blog 😉
I concur though, I’m not sure where exactly my writing stands since my writing can range from personal if I’m in the mood or more professional if I reread and check through repeatedly.
Hit me up if you want to do any blog collabs!
